Study on Microstructure Stability of Sunscreen Cosmetics Based on Raman Technique
A method for the rapid,real-time,and direct characterization of the distribution of components in sunscreen cosmetics has been established based on micro-Raman spectroscopy. Using the DXR3xi micro-Raman spectrometer,the microscopic morphology of the samples is directly observed to evaluate their uniformity. For larger aggregates or obvious crystalline structures present in the samples,Raman spectral spot scanning is performed. The components are then analyzed by matching the spectra with the instrument's built-in Raman spectral library and a self-built standard spectral library of 16 common sunscreen agents. Additionally,regional Raman scanning of the samples can be conducted,and the distribution of specific components(such as sunscreen agents and surfactants) can be accurately characterized by analyzing the regional correlation of their characteristic spectra. This allows for a comprehensive evaluation of the stability of the sample's microstructure. This method has been successfully applied to the stability assessment of several sunscreen cosmetics,revealing the crystallization of components such as phenylbenzimidazole sulfonic acid and potassium cetyl phosphate. It can serve as a methodological reference for the stability research of sunscreen cosmetics.
