A method was developed for the determination of benzo[α] pyrene in vegetables by reformed QuEChERS and high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detector. The samples were extracted with acetonitrile, distilled with PSA+neutral Al2O3 column, and rinsed with mixture of hexane and acetonitrile(95∶5,by volume). The external standard method was used to determine the content of benzo[α] pyrene. The result indicated that the calibration curve was linear in the range of 1.0-20.0 μg/kg with correlation coefficient of 0.999.The limit of quantitation(LOQ) was 1.0 μg/kg.The recoveries of benzo[α] pyrene were in the range of 65%-98% with RSDs of 5.9%-13.8%.The method was applied in the practical inspection on vegetables, and benzo[α]pyrene was detected in one sample with residual concentration of 1.23 μg/kg.
