The determination techniques of heavy metals in tobacco products and smoke were reviewed with regard to sample preparation and detection methods.The methods for sample preparation including wet digestion,microwave digestion,extraction method,slurry sampling and other methods,and the detection methods including atomic spectroscopy,mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography were introduced.The sensitivity,accuracy and application of these methods were described.The advantages and disadvantages of various methods were compared.The development of the detection methods for the heavy metals in tobacco were also prospected.
