Poly(p-phenylenediamine) nanosheets were first synthesized through oxidative polymerization of p-phenylenediamine,and then used as the substrate for anchoring copper microspheres via a facile solvothermal route.The resultant copper/poly(p-phenylenediamine)(Cu/PpPD)composites possess good electrical conductivity,big specific surface area,large pore size and pore volume,which are beneficial for transfer of electrons,utilization of active sites and transportation of reactant and electrolyte.The as-prepared Cu/PpPD composites showed excellent electrocatalytic activity toward the direct oxidation of glucose in the absence of any enzymes.Under the optimal conditions,the Cu/PpPD-based enzymeless glucose sensor showed the advantages of short response time(i.e.,the current achieved 95% of the steady state value within 3s),wide linear range(0.003-6.44mmol/L),high sensitivity(929μA?mmol-1?L?cm-2),low detection limit(4.48×10-7mol?L-1),good reproducibility and selectivity.In addition,the as-prepared Cu/PpPD-based enzymeless glucose sensor was successfully applied in the quantitative determination of glucose in real serum samples with recoveries of 99.5%-101.1%,which indicated it has a great prospect in clinical application.
